Jeroen Sweers (1 April 1978) started playing boogie woogie on the piano as a boy. His passion for this type of music, but also for many other styles, resulted in 2002 in him graduating cum laude at the conservatorium in Zwolle, the Netherlands.

Grand Piano Boogie Train

He then went on to play in the theatre show The Grand Piano Boogie Train together with boogie woogie masters such as Jaap Dekker, Rob Agerbeek and Rob Hoeke. This way, he gradually grew to become one of Holland’s top boogie woogie pianists, and founded the Jeroen Sweers Boogie Woogie Band. For years he was a regular at the many jazz, blues and boogie woogie festivals at home and abroad.

Them Lewis Boys

Currently, Jeroen plays in Them Lewis Boys, in which he honours the piano rock of the 50s and 60s, such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Ray Charles and Fats Domino.

Other activities

In addition to Them Lewis Boys, Jeroen plays in several other bands, including The Blue Note Rollers trio, makes regular guest appearances in a wide range of bands, is a session musician, and also teaches piano in Deventer and the surrounding area. Combining the appearances with sharing his musical knowledge with a new generation of pianists is the ideal way for Jeroen to continue to grow as a musician.
